About Travis Raish

Hello from Atlanta. If you’ve found your way to this page, you’re probably curious about the person behind the stories — which is flattering, because most days I’m just trying to keep up with my kids, my characters, and the ever‑growing stack of books on my nightstand.

I grew up in Colorado. My wife is from Texas. My kids are from Russia. And now we all live in Georgia, where not a day goes by that I’m not humbled by the miracle of how all of that came together.

I’ve always been a writer, but in college I studied something that was pretty much the opposite of creative writing. That led to many years doing very serious work for very serious people. As it turns out, I’m good at that work — and I still do it — but storytelling is where I get to breathe. It’s where imagination wins, where kids save the day, and where the world feels just a little more magical.

My writing is shaped by the books I loved growing up. Roald Dahl, especially, sparked my love of reading — and, admittedly, my love of chocolate. His stories taught me that the strange, the whimsical, and the heartfelt can all live in the same place. I’ve been chasing that feeling ever since.
